Supplications

Supplications

Like arid gardens but
Tears so drenching
Of sorrow so imprinted in the soul
Of desperation speaking
Through hollow pipes
The cries of the forsaken
Grasping onto feeble threads
To pull them through the rough
Come to kneel down and
Ask for a way out of destitution
Then shall supplications be heard

Insincere prayers come
From insincere people
Asking for prosperity to grow
Then it’s up to them to nurture it
God is only a spiritual advisor
