The Wonderment
A man crucified while forgiving his executioners,
nailed to the cross with an assortment of prisoners,
Jesus with pure thoughts and living a pure life,
is a man without riches nor lust nor wife,
waiting for the white wings of death to come,
ne’er to abort his mission and leave his life undone.
Then the wonderment of the empty tomb to explore,
the removal of the heavy boulder at the door,
he is rising with no wings to heaven above,
then coming back to earth, confirming his love.
