Written on the Face

Written on the Face
As moods shift like the sand
So the eyes become their shadows
In their shifting manner
When worry agitates the quiet soul
It rises to the surface
Like the waters distorted by the storm
The face becomes that distortion
When exertion is written
Across your brow
Your task shall reward you
With sacred tears rolling down
As your contentment rises up
When love touches the heart
It becomes a messenger
Bearing good news to the face
As it messages the skin
With its soft silky fingers
And prepares it for love’s
Calming sacred rites
Many moods avail themselves
To be written on the face
