THE FADING STAR

THE FADING STAR

I shone bright in infinity,
A celestial dance, luminous affinity.
But now I am beginning to fade,
My brilliance waning, a cosmic cascade.

My light is dimming, a twilight sigh,
A celestial elegy, a fading sky.
My future short, like a comet’s flight,
A transient spark in the vast night.

There were times when I burned so bright,
The envy of stars, a radiant light.
A legend in the canvas of the sky,
A tale told by nebulae passing by.

I fret not, as my light has given,
Life to worlds, a cosmic ribbon.
And when I am gone, my glow dispersed,
Will I be remembered in the universe?

For the light I shone in a dark expanse,
A beacon of hope, a cosmic dance.
If I live for a few more years,
I will try to shine through cosmic tears.

I’ll illuminate the void with my cosmic might,
A stellar performance in the endless night.
Until the last day, I’ll blaze my trail,
A fading star, but my light won’t fail.
