TO MY SONS, FROM YOUR FATHER

To my Sons, From a Father

If your mother were the moon, a radiant pearl,
I am the sun, in a vast, endless swirl,
And in the dance of celestial delight,
Your world was bathed in the dual cosmic light.

We both endured life’s relentless demands,
Through trials and joys, hand in hand.
Yet, amidst the verses and melodic throngs,
Why do father’s love receive fewer songs?

Isn’t it my blood coursing through your veins,
Though I never felt your womb’s tender strains?
My love, a mountain’s peak, towering high,
Yet my blood did not turn into milk, oh, my!

I offered you strength in your mother’s embrace,
A shadow’s refuge, an unspoken grace.
No one knows this, but I held the night,
Why don’t children bask in a father’s light?

Is eternal bliss reserved for mothers alone,
While a father’s love remains largely unknown?
Let us celebrate both, in harmonious rhyme,
For together, they weave the fabric of time.
