Life's advice

Listen thyself, not to the birdsong or the clatter of Delf,
To the tick of the clock, to the ships leaving dock, to verse and rhyme, to the cellphone chime, rhythmical lyrics of exuberant spirits,
For that will cast only the shape of the other,
And your desire will fill the mould.
 
Look not at color and shape,
Watch and observe with balance the unfolding reality,
infinite paths diverging at once,
jumping from this to that
fizzing with potentiality.
 
Taste not the richness of food
 
There is only the blackness
