Red
Why is blood the color red?
Is it because our Creator wants
Us to notice it when shed?
Like taking in a blood-red sunset,
Or when we are alarmed
By a red-hot fire,
Or when we aroused,
By red-hot desire,
Or is it to notice the soft glow
Of pink skin when romance
Is to begin,
The red of roses,
Is the queen of posies,
A red stop sign,
Is a warning to our mind,
Red is not a soothing color,
Nor was it meant to be...
I’m a fan of blue
But there’s another
Story I’ll let it be.
