Through a Child’s Eyes

If I still saw life through a child’s eyes,
People would still be people,
There would be no rich or poor,
No race no left of right,
No ugly or beautiful,
Nothing to impinge my morals or my sight,
Sex is not yet learned,
And the wonders of the world,
Still enliven life,
Every day is spring!
The mysteries of life still pulse loudly from within,
Innocence is still intact,
Simple questions are asked,
Cynicism is still far away,
The days of Summer seem without end
And are there is no grey to contend,
What is truth? What does it matter...
Life is lived without reserve no climbing of the ladder,
The child lives life rather than express it,
The life of a child is brutally honest & without guile,
He or she will soon be an adult and look in vain
For the lost child
