My ambition in life
Was always to be
A successful man
With plenty of money
A big detached house
An expensive car
Id set my sights
Only that far
Then before my eyes
I began to see
All the riches
Bestowed upon me
My sight, my hearing
All my faculties
What value is health?
For you couldn’t
Price these
Then I thought of the people
In those distant lands
Who to go out begging
They chop off their hands
There only possession
A wooden bowl
So short their lives
Yet they look so old
I thought of the starving children
In Vietnam
Mine are all well fed
How lucky I am
Two thirds of the world
Live in poverty
And I’d wanted more
Just for me
I have no doubt you’ve thought like i
That you haven’t enough
And you’ve wondered why
But please spare a thought
For those in real need
For they are only that way
Because of our greed
They’re
Only
That
Way
Because of our greed
