Malvado

They say the devil’s like a man ;
As beautiful and fair,
Spared only a parting glance,
You’d never know he’s there.

Aloof until crisis of faith,
Catching grey shades, ghosts of the past;
Offering rebirth, in darkness bathed
Through fallen eyes that only outlast.

They say the devil is a test,
A mask whispering with sinful song
What’s the harm of giving in?
There’s no evil in unknowing wrong.

A nagging itch as old as time,
Temptation written in allegory.
Eternal in our pleasures grasped
The devil is man; the devil is me.
