The Necromancer's Ditty

Homage to H.P. Lovecraft, our dread father.

I sat in my study, crafting unholy brew,
And looking, in general, for something better to do.
When from outside  my window, I heard a faint call
That danced through my consciousness, understanding and all.
I followed into an alley, and what did I see?
'Twas Dark Lord Yog-Sothoth, beckoning me!
He snatched me away to Unkown Kadath
A place only of mania, no sorrow, no wrath.
I met the dark messenger, Nyarlathotep
Who showed me where my life was missing a step.
Lead next towards Azathoth, Blind Idiot God
I learned much of sanity, mankind’s greatest fraud.
Freed such burdens, I arrived safe, if not sound,
To the realm of Shub-Niggurath, best mother around.
With her thousand young broodlings, I frolicked without care
Though a mother’s scorn, I knew well to beware.
I soon found myself falling back to this world
With our new gods in tow, their last exodus unfurled.
Whilst they enslaved all free life, I returned to my brew,
With little on the mind, and much less to do.
