Liberty Park

The River runs steady, I smell the dirty water;
It fills my dying lungs with life.
Out in the air, the motion brings about
The piece reflected to keep pride.

I can’t see the forest for the trees
But this park will do just fine;
Swinging through the breeze, rippling my hair
As children play to laugh and cry.

The sun is high, and so am I
On the wealth of beauty in a day.
Nature is the common man’s cure
The thing that drives the clouds away.
