is a funny phrase
all it takes is one to take a leap...
or in our case a seat
and the rest would be history

acquaintances to friends
is usually how it goes
gym partners and eating food on a stool
making jokes and jabs... acting like fools
indulging in each other’s misery
right Emily?
friends to wannabe lovers
isn’t a phrase that should’ve been
deep talks spread throughout nights of wine
hilarious memories to be had and notes of cheesy lines
if only it was reciprocally
right Emily?
unrequited lover to strangers
passing each other in the hallways once again
enough words were spilt and yet with no blood present
scars remain visible, if only one person wouldn’t be hesitant
then friends again we would be. would you disagree—
