We are human

We are human, we fight.
We talk face to face with bullets negotiating peace.
Struggles in our walls, our hearts, our blood boils for lost treasure, lost love and lost trust.
They may never be regained yet we will not settle unless we try.

We are human, we believe.
Women thought wiser than men lay happily in sheets woven with lies convinced they are the only woman.
In golden statues we count on for healing, prosperity and wisdom. What could come from a pillar of mineral?
Don’t hold it against us, we are mere human.

We are human, we sing.
In the belly of a beast, in stadiums, colosseums for blood shed we sing.
Sing for joy, pain and love. Inmates, playmates, Soulmates belt out an anthem for humanity sake.

We are human, we forgive.
The rapist that took our virginity, the heartbreaker that took our sanity, the white man who destroyed our heredity we forgive.
Though victimised we refuse to stay bitter, we make peace so we can fall asleep.

We are human, we connect.
We touch hands, hearts, lives. We kiss lips, kids and strangers in dark alleys.
With those under the grouchy bridges we sympathize, 'cause even we over silver tiles are victimized.

We are human,
In trenches, behind fences, on benches we hold on to our senses for they guide us, they hide us.
We are human, we are devine.
Let us hold and abide, never let go, never divide.
