Pyramid Of Poetry
We climb the pyramid of poetry,
ascending steps of self-expression high
above myopic view of Narcissists
from lyric through dialog to narrative,
to gain enlightenment about truth of life.
Lyric is the voice of an individual
who opens their eyes to perceive their world
and expresses emotions and insights
about how the subject imagines itself
and its place and purpose in the world of forms.
Dialog is the voices of two or more
people meeting in some place and time
who communicate to share their preceptions
and present opposing world views that clash
then merge through analysis in new world view.
Narrative is the voice of one story-teller
who presides before an attentive audience,
describing a series of scenes in place and time
that explain how characters interact
while they explore nature of our complex world.
Climb with me pyramid of poetry,
ascending from lyric to narrative,
to broaden world view of your dreaming eyes
so we may grow beyond limits of self
and sing history of human life on Earth.
