SUMMER SOLSTICE
The crescent moon waxes towards the first full moon of summer,
As the sun rises for the Solstice, ready to reign over the earth.
I feel the playfulness and sensuality of the season rise up in me,
And for the first time in many years I feel joy for the summer.
I want to set myself free and celebrate naked in the warmth of the sun,
As it nurtures body and soul in communion with the earth.
The long languid days of summer will fill my heart with a peacefulness,
And the nights in their balmy briefness will bring passion and desire.
But with the Solstice the long days will already begin to wane,
So I will revel in the sun, gathering warmth and love to sustain me.
