Unanswered Questions
Tightly gripping life,
Not letting control slip from your grasp
Fear of the uncertain keeps your grounded,
Like a balloon tethered to a pole
But the life you live is comfortable
You’ve grown accustomed to the mediocre routine
Breaking habit wouldn’t be an option,
Now you’re stuck
Hesitant to be vulnerable
Scared of the heartbreak which so often accompanies being honest with another
You begin to question everything,
Having no faith or foundation to stand firmly upon
When you find that your questions don’t have answers
That is when you shut down
Discouraged by the thought of the unknown
Defeated by what you’ll never understand
