I Know

I know I’m a man
I know the color of my skin
Why can’t I know
on tomorrow the mood I’ll be in?

I know what foods I like
I know which colors I hate
Why don’t I know
how much more I can take?

I know where I’ve been
I know the things I’ve done
Why can’t I know
if ever again I’ll see the sun?

What I know seems useless
What I want to know is fruitless
What I hold on to is priceless:
A word of comfort that’s limitless

“I will never leave you, nor forsake you”

Spoken word describing how much we know and don't know all at the same time. For the Christian, true knowledge can only come from knowing Christ and standing on His promise in spite of life's uncertainties. Based upon "Hebrews 13:5 - Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." ~The Refined Poet~
