Glass Shield

I stare through the glass shield, and I see the world through it. So very bright and clear, so very near.  Alas I can not touch, because the glass shield does endure, shatter it I should. Brave enough, I’m not, for without my glass shield, I needs touch.  Interaction without reaction is my love, To watch, To see, To never be without my precious glass shield.  I polish and keep clean the shield, my precious glass, to e’er watch without fear, my precious glass shield. How it bends the light, how it sharpens what sights this world yet holds, precious glass shield, Alas you are done in by no more than a simple stone, thrown by the world.
