The Dream

The dream

Laying comfy in my bed
Awaking from my sleep
I stretch and smile in the morning light
Remembering my dream...

It was night and lights were red
There was an empty room,
Just some tables and some chairs
Nothing much to do.

I saw a guy not far away
Giving me a look
I snapped a pic and had a seat
I guess that’s all it took...

He came over and sat down
Then he bought me a drink
We talked a little but nothing much
It was very short and sweet

People began to gather
As the music filled the air
All were singing and dancing
Living without a care

Not wanting to leave the music
But the clock had just struck one
Without even saying goodbye
I started on my run

Felt like I ran for hours
I finally reached the house
Posted a quick song online
Just a few clicks of the mouse

A few days went by and to my surprise
I had a message waiting
From the guy I met that night
A pity, he was saying

We met again and had a drink
And lunch and then the bus
As I got on and waved goodbye
It wasn’t the end of us

We talked everyday after that
Learning more and more each day
Realizing we had strong feelings
And so together we chose to stay

Trips back and forth and long phone calls
We pushed through all the ups and downs
I’ve never had this kind of love
One with only solid ground

The romance grows as each day passes
Bringing smiles at just a thought
This is the kind of love one hopes for
Yearned for and so sought

As I lay there in my bed
Thinking of my dream
It was so detailed and so clear
A perfectly flowing stream

You roll over and kiss my head
And wrap your arms around me
I smile as I hear your voice
You’re face is all I see

Looking at your handsome eyes
So lucky do I feel
Realizing my dream isn’t a dream at all
This one is for real
