Monday Morning
Just for Laughs
Been raining a few hours; a flood warning
Sent county wide; a dark, gloomy Monday
Wanted to stay in bed, to my dismay
Got a meeting at work; ten this morning...
Turned the telly on; a power outage!
Made sure my socks match, dressing in the dark
And while shaving, careful I leave no mark
Gotta stay calm; not fly into a rage!
The drive to work; like goin’ through a puddle
Water everywhere; hard to see the road,
Too many cars; to standstill, traffic slowed
I arrived on time despite the struggle...
But no one’s here; room’s empty, the place dead
Meeting’s cancelled; I could’ve stayed in bed!
