Not Another Love Poem

This is not another love poem,
not another rosy tome about heartstrings and singing souls,
not another Sonnet, or Couplet, wistfully regaling stolen glances,
whispering words lofted on fragrant seas, or
pouting lips barely parted in anticipation of kisses as soft as a sigh, or
dancing fingers, skipping hearts, and sung lullabies.

No, I have no more of THOSE to pen,
my heart is empty (but, oh so wants to be filled) of love,
of romances uncertain gaze, of loves gut-clenching maze.
Where is my soulmate, my other half, my completion?
I bought into the fairytale time and again, because of... hope?
No more... lies, tries, cries, or goodbyes.

Not another love Poem shall I scribe... for now.
