The Deepness of Depth

The Deepness of depth

The deep has swallowed me up. There is darkness all around. I see evidence of nothing, peace cannot be found. And what of sound? There is no sound, none at all. Only quiet is heard with a shattering voice. Quiet is all that beckons me and the call is not a choice."

“For I am lost in this abyss and cannot see any light. The deep has pulled me down and I am lost in my plight. But still, I call. Not hearing my voice, I call. Not having a choice, I call. Will no one save me from this miserable night?”

“I search for a ray of light. Perchance it will strike a hole through my prison, the depth and pull me out. And then, just as I doubt, sight comes in a ray of light! The shining is so bright and I look for its source. I search through the depth, but I cannot find the source. Until I realize that it is from within me, of course!”

“The light was in me-is in me! I don’t have to listen to the dark voice, for the Kingdom of God is within me, it is my choice. And I choose to shine, for it is mine. There is no explaining how. I was lost in the depth, but now I shine. I failed to use it until now.”

“Lost and alone and afraid we might be, but look inside and His light you will see. Though still in the depth a light now shines, leading me out as His path I find: where I am surely nourished and kept, until I can rest in His deepness of depth.”
