Drove South
I drove down south
to check out the beaches,
and on my way there
i saw some alabama peaches.
Now i’m on the gulf
where the water is green,
i got my camera and my phone
but no sunscreen.
I’m just sittin on the balcony
and listenin to the waves,
and on my computer
i can watch the marlins and the braves.
I see the people fishing
and casting their bait,
but i’m thinking of my friends
in the volunteer state.
I miss my coworkers
and i wish them well,
especially roy rogers
and and my gal nelly bell.
I miss carol and
i miss the queen,
i miss consumin coffee
and all the caffeine.
I miss fire marshals bartlett
and tracy summar,
not seeing their faces
is a real bummer.
I miss niki sue
and her office full of trash,
but most of all
i miss sweet ash.
And i’ll never forget 'em
and where i’m from,
as i seriously consider
a life as a beach bum.
