The Mirror: The Mind

A mirror
That’s all it takes
To send someone down a spiral
Of self-consciousness
Checking the looking glass every hour
Criticizing, hating
Seeing only fat that towers
Over the perfect you really are.
Fat, fat, fat, all you see is fat.
Standing naked in the mirror,
No pants, no shirt, just skin.
Nothing else matters but the fact
That starvation is your only option
Exercise and water upon the gallons
Completing and signing for the adoption
Of Anorexia.
