Figures

by Bryce McKay Weyerman

He is an interesting fellow to say the least.
And say the least I shall, for I do not think highly of him.
He resembles a man, but is anything but.
Pumping through his veins are the years of abuse he has endured and is willing to inflict.
He is a carnivore and you are his next dinner;
and oh how politely he asks you to join him.
His face is that of a clock.
“You will not escape.”
He reeks of abandonment and you are his victim.
Yet you are only a scapegoat to him.
An excuse, justification for his unjust blood.
You see him everywhere and he hates change.
He was me.
I loved him once upon a time.
