She Tried
Telling the story about a girl from long ago
She was horrified how she could feel so low
She thought that she could try and make them happy, make them better
But nothing, no one could change them, just like the weather
She tried everyday and failed countless times
She felt like she was left with nothing and life could never be sublime
So much pain has gone through her heart and mind
But she stood up with a smile on her face and was still kind
She hid all of her feelings, not trying to be a burden
Even if she did tell how she felt, someone always ended up hurting
She could barely live with the fact that she hurt those that were close
She must not reveal her feelings, must not cry, must not boast
One day her family fought and she revealed what she felt
She finally gave up, so she wanted to return her cards she was dealt
She went to the bathroom and closed the door
She took a few swigs of a liquid that made her vomit and pass out on the floor
An ambulance and the police were called and her daddy fell to his knees
He wanted her to know how much he loved her hoping she would hear his pleas
She was revived from her coma and sent home with heavy mindset
Everyone she knew hated her it felt like, and was upset
She learned that this was not the way, ending her life meant nothing
Because if she had left this world, her family and loved ones would have lost everything
Motivating herself, moving past the barriers from the shell she used to be
She became better, she tried harder, motivation and forgiveness were the key
If you leave everything behind, where does that leave everyone who loved you?
I’m not saying that you need to die in order for them to live because that’s not what to do.
Live life, even if it’s hard
Don’t give up darling because you’re your own ace in the hole, you’re own wild card.
Take all this and more from a girl who is used to giving up but still holds strong
Help yourself, not just those in need, and you will see that you don’t need to fit in, belong
You are your own being, your own breath and every heart beat
You are beautiful and strong from your head to your feet
Let this tell you who you are and how amazing you really are
I hope this has made you realize you aren’t a dark cloud, but a shining star.
