The Beginning

She is the first to venture out into the cold,

careful not to make a sound.

Her bright colored attire reflects

upon the frost  laced covered ground

Unfamiliar faces stop to smile,

knowing what she brings.

Her rembrandt appearance mirrors

memories of the spring.

Rays  from sunrise morning sun

dance upon her face.

She stands at attention bringing forth

to the world her pride and grace.

City sounds neglect her presence

as she stands silent, then opens up her arms.

She embraces the beginning of spring,  only possible

by  the beauty of a tulip’s   charm.
