God Grades on the Nerve
People think that their report card from God
will be graded Pass/Fail
but since God has a mysterious reputation to uphold
He gives two grades in every subject you attempt:
You get an A for effort
and, with apologies to Samuel Beckett
an F for Fail better
(If you didn’t even try
you get an Incomplete
which is experienced as a feeling of emptiness)
