Distance, Time, and Love
Dedicated for my Girlfriend, Cat.
Once upon a time, we were friends in the glow of the cross.
We celebrated our achievements together, but in different locations.
I traveled to the East while you stayed in the West.
You continued your goals while I pursued my dream.
Little connections kept us in the circle, even though distance kept us apart.
Even though I came back a broken man, you were there to answer my call.
Your presence gave me comfort, joy, and happiness as my presence returned the same feeling.
Even though time gave us less distance, it didn’t change our hearts.
As the magic star fell from the sky and the wind shook the earth, our hearts connected once again, but this time, love was upon us.

I wrote this for my friend, who became the love of my life. This poem is a short version of how we came together.
