Tyranny of the Mind

Agonizing wake of a summer sea
Setting down upon the breeze
Feeling me, feeling this moment
And I drop back into a haze of emptiness
Repetition and repetition
And when I’ve found my comfort
A dream awakes and it begins anew
True that inspirationally dreaming and contemplating
Follow the rhyme, follow the rabbit hole
See where it goes

To a land of scratchy eyeballs and monotonous haze
I cannot seem to escape myself
Having sought to channel
Sought to redirect in times of necessity
All I want to do is just fall asleep and stop thinking
The frothy brew silences my ego
But the frothy brew destroys my REM cycle
So I cycle endlessly between discomfort and acceptance.

Where does this go?
When does it end?
In fear of death and silent agony

But hey, I finally saw her fuck another guy and it didn’t turn my stomach
My subconscious working out the puzzles
My intentions clear
Only one day anew
It scattered my sanity
But as with all, the optimism reigns supreme
The truth blasting my hair back like a summer’s scorching breath
Warmth and heat
Suffocating delight.
