** to the rhyming scheme of Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven"

On October 7, 2013, upon awakening, from a scary dream
Little Miss Goldilocks, issued a challenge, quite insane
On a public forum, in broad array, for all to see, and come and play
Fortune favored, the man in gray, gray as the meaning, of her name
The self-satisfied young lady, the peaceful sea, who asked to play, this fiendish game
Would by gray’s hand be returned, to the abysmal depths, from whence she came
Her true course set, that dark day in October, shrouded in a black most sober
Her name beginning the annals of gray’s acclaim
For he did plan, to slit her marrow, with something more nefarious, than cupid’s arrow
Death did play, his card of tarot, tarot trumpeted, gray’s first terror, her lasting fame
Thus ensuring, Goldilocks’s final breaths, were not wasted, were gray’s to claim
The doom Death wrought, she brought herself, and gray accepted, without shame
In silken shroud, her mind uncertain, she heard the rustling, behind the curtain
Thrilled and Filled, with fantastic terrors, her body flushed, her mind aflame
As gray removed, her purple shield, exposing what Lady Justice, once proudly revealed
From Goldilocks’s, there was no appeal, appealing as she was, Justice was not blind, to her wicked game
That she herself started, and proudly proclaimed
For gray has won, and claims his prize, her judgment exacted, upon her young frame
Fed by fear, Goldilocks grew stronger, she found her voice, hesitating no longer
Sir she said, what is your name
But the deadly chord, she failed to see, except perhaps, in his future memory
As grey bound her securely, securely he donned, his current role, as if to exclaim
I am the Majesty of Justice, come to reclaim
My rightful throne, exacting wrath, the wicked slain, tonight I am, Goldilocks’s bane
Into gray’s darkness, Goldilocks was peering, as she laid there, wondering fearing
Remembering the dream, her challenge insane
As gray stood there, the silence unbroken, in the darkness, true FEAR awoken
As the only words spoken, spoken most longingly, was her true name
Whispered and echoed, to her ears as they came
As gray’s hands finally returned her, to the abysmal depths, from whence she came!
As he turned, and left the room, that we now know, to be Goldilocks’s tomb
He tacked a note, upon the door, parchment wrapped, in wooden frame
Those very words, from the past, that proved divining, for all to see, perfectly aligning
Kairoh Miren’s, own challenge defining, defining the rules, absolving all blame
From anyone who could, Miss Goldilocks scare, the naive girl, the fair haired dame
Gray signed the poem, with her own hand, “The dead always bite!”

My FIRST "Scary Poem" for the open challenge listed by Kairoh Miren

It is quite AMAZING! The writing... your journey... and the agony of battling inner demons while at the same time traversing the lonely road of the wayward traveller.Glad it survived the journey with you!
