Pine Tree Blues

Oh woe is me, I’m a Pine. You see?
And Christmas is coming my way.
Past years weren’t bad; I was limp and sad
So I was spared, to live another day.
 
But last year’s weather was so much better
Now I’m tall and straight as can be.
Bad news, I’m afraid, I’ve just been waylaid
Now I’ll end my days as a Christmas tree.
