The warmth I felt has now turned cold,
for barriers of winter ensue
May you see the winds that carry me,
as they carry me over skies of blue
The warmth I felt has now turned cold,
for endless snow flakes fall
Upon the bough of icy trees,
the night bird no longer calls

Thank you so much Sandi for all your sweet comments they really lift my spirits. There is nothing lacking in your poetry my friend you are being too hard on yourself. I can feel your poetry when I read it as I know it comes from within your life and heart. And you cannot learn that in a class. So please keep posting, everyone has their own styles and talent. Off to read you now...:)

I really like this one. Very clever. I feel like I need to go to a poetry or writing class. The words you and other poets use I can't in vision in my head. Maybe one day. Or maybe not! Ha! Great poem. God a Bless.
