The Trip

We spend our precious little time,
With perceptions not our own,
All of the truth of what we see,
would then begin to be set free,
and all we’d have to do is face the fact,
we’re lying.
We push the life inside away,
we’re dying.
We can’t just face the things that hurt,
in hiding.
We lock up tight,
won’t see this right,
and if we do,
we’ll force it down,
No flying.
We make a promise to ourselves,
We cannot end this world alone,
just crying.
We’re told we can’t take all this with,
we know each moment is a gift,
so let us try to feel it now,
Start smiling.
