the white transforms the world that once was. conquering what used to be with its abundant, crushing weight. all consuming with no regards to what lies beneath. but slowly, the hidden world pushes back. the branches shake the mounds from their leaves. the flowers burst through the icy layers with all their might. the blades of grass and format stalks slowly follow, with steady determination. shhh, close your eyes. listen. the black birds singing once again. you see, what the snow did now know is that the world beneath was burning to break free. oh, the arrogance. when the world is ready, the sun will shine. making way for another generation of fighters, for the battle has been won, but the war never ending.
