Since the last time I saw you

I’ve come to conclude eight simple truths.

1. Heartbreak is a treacherous journey

On a wrecked road with guileful signs

Of lies, insecurities, and delusions.

2. Pain is deep and tall and temporary. And on the occasion it occurs it can

Be tediously binding.

9. I can definitely live without you.

4. It sucks living without you.

5. There’s more to me than just my love for you.

6. Honesty can be hard, dark, and dangerously depressing.

And sadly, the truth can’t be avoided forever.

7. Healing is heavy and ugly, at first. And requires that I take notice of its flaws and feel its weight until I can’t bear to walk with it nor stand the sight of it anymore.

8. Even after, I still love you.
