I Am All That You Don't See

I am the words I use to write,
I am coffee at midnight.
I am the wind that blows across the lakes,
I am starred by my mistakes.
I am the songs I sing to the moon,
I am a lovely raging loon.
I am the tears I spill out,
I am the dreams I doubt.
I am the quiet in the rain,
I am light and classically insane.
I am softer than the whitest snow,
I am more broken than they know.
I am the furthest wildflower still in the garden,
I am the clay which will never harden.
I am the sorrow in my anger,
I am a heart in danger.
I am a smile in mourning,
I am unworthy of adorning.
I am lost in the crowd,
I am not speaking out loud.
I am awake struggling through my days,
I am sleepy in their monotonous ways.
I am all that you don’t see
When you look at me.

When we want someone to see inside, instead of seeing through.
