Lost

Faith, God, Love Journey, Sorrow, Fate, Hope

I dreamt awake of a fate I knew not of,
One marked by God above.
I know not what it may mean,
Unspeakable deceit I have seen.
I lie asleep in a fog,
Lost in the bog.
Lightening struck calling to my name,
Fate was here to make her claim.
She took my heart to a bonfire,
Of a broken lover’s desire.
I knew not who I was,
I believed all of this because,
So lost was I on a barren sea,
I knew not how to find me.
You shone in my darkness,
Brought life to a starkness.
You shook my eyes so they may see,
The other wholeness of me.
You know not what you’ve done for my soul,
My passion burns like hot coal,
Amidst the cold desolate place that was left,
Hanging from a jagged cleft.
I move on through the stillness,
Locked in my mind’s illness.
May I find my way,
Through this charcoaled day. (2016)C.L.L.
