Carousel

Looking for love is tricky business, like whipping a carousel horse. ~ George Cukor

His life’s a carousel, round and round it goes

No ups, no downs; nowhere his destination

A pointless voyage, to somewhere nobody knows

And in his grasp, a one-way ticket to oblivion

He wakens, the day’s a mirror of yesterday

Overcast the sky, morning till nightfall

A humdrum universe, monotonous in every way

Existence lackluster, no future he can call

Then SHE came,  now he’s on a rollercoaster ride

Sun shines,  it’s a clear day; and he’s starry-eyed
