Early Summer Haikus

"Global warming is not a conqueror to kneel before - but a challenge to rise to. A challenge we must rise to."
Joe Lieberman

Just for Laughs.  Or is it?

Oh geez! summer’s here
A little early this year
It’s not even May
But look! all the trees are  green
And I’m covered in sunscreen

The flowers blooming
The heat already scorching
In early morning
Where’s the merry month of May?
Somehow lost along the way

Over at the beach
Ocean waters look steamy
Calling you and me
Wonder how a dip would feel
Now that it’s only April

It must be global warming
I find it quite alarming
With ocean levels rising
And polar ice vanishing
The shore line’s disappearing
And inland cities flooding

Isn’t that scary?
But my friend, he’s not worried
Got boat in his shed
Waiting for a stronger breeze
On to sail the seven seas!
