I found that once
I tried to love
But trying wasn’t enough.

After that, I was afraid.
Afraid to ever love again.
I tried to move on
But never once
Did I give any my heart to fix.
Then one day,
You walked right in
Without ever a warning.

Like I did with everyone else
But no matter what I ever tried
You kept your place, unmoving.
Eventually I learned, so well,
To let you stay there sitting.

I now refuse to let you go,
