I guess nobody could have expected it.
For you to love me, that is.
But they did expect it to end no differently.
& they were all right in the end.
But I couldn’t just give up & let you go
& you didn’t stop giving me hope.
At least, not until I asked you.
It’s such a funny thing, love.
Ours pretty much began with a threesome.
But who’s to judge what is the right way to fall in love?
Yet we moved too quick.
I said “I love you” too quick.
You said it back too quick.
I moved in too quick.
Because you let me too quick.
We moved fast.
So fast that it was too much.
Too much before you left.
Now, it’s nothing & you’re gone.
My eyes to never set upon yours again.
