A New Creation

Never wanted love,
Heck if I knew what it meant,
But you came and taught me,
Well you tried to teach me,
And I thought I had learnt,
But I failed every single test,
I would never admit to my faults,
But you were not so perfect yourself,
You were stubborn, just like me,
You’d never admit to your faults either,
I was always facing a mirror,
My own reflection teaching me how to love?
then it dawned to me, you were also learning,
You failed you own tests though you never realised it,
Then it hit me, maybe we had learnt our own definition of love, in which nothing was taken seriously,
Yet the little things offend us easily,
In which we had no troubles but still had a lot of problems,
A love that shouldn’t exist and yet we invented,
The same love we knew would end in destruction,
Was one we built a foundation for,
The kind of love that had hatred within trying to break out,
We were similar, yet different,
Same heart, different mind,
So right and yet so wrong for each other.

If you ever read this,
Just know this,
What we had was unique,
What we had was powerful, and maybe too powerful,
But what we had wasn’t love,
God had already created love,
We created something else.
