Last Words

His memories

Right now, all I hear is the sound of the 6:30am bells,
All I see are chains shackled on my hands and legs,
What for?
The sun rises above the docks,
The soil awaits me,
It says to me, “It’s time”,
My cell gate opens,
Bag over my head,
I’m led out to the yards,
Bag comes off,
“It’s time”.

But before I go,
Before I set sail,
Before I say goodbye,
One last thing,
To my Father, I’m coming home,
To my Mother, don’t cry, I’ll be with father,
To my Brother, tell your children of me,
To my Sister, take care of my children for me,
To my Children, be good, daddy’s always watching,
To my Friends, don’t mourn, celebrate,
To my Enemies, I forgive you,
To the Broadcasters, tell my tale,
To the Bloggers, post my legacy,
To the Artists, paint my culture,
To the Musicians, voice out my tone,
To the World, remember me for what I did.

For the only crime I committed was caring too much for you,
Don’t forget my tears,
As the bag goes over my head,
The rope round my neck,
And the soil says “It’s Time”
