I hadn’t slept for days.
I thought I heard noises in the attic.
I actually thought I heard someone coughing
IN MY ATTIC!
Sleep becomes unnecessary and undesirable.
So many new ideas to explore.
So many hunches to follow.
I was all alone. It wouldn’t be hard
for anyone to swallow. No foul-no harm.
I didn’t know that I’d be surprised attacked
Bill made sure the ambulance circled back
TO THE FRONT OF THE HOUSE!!!
What a louse!
Chained to a gurney
and pushed out the front door
never thought it would become
neighborhood lore.
If it wasn’t for the stun gun duo
and their knees in my back.
Perhaps I could have breathed instead
of almost having a heart attack.
