What is skin color?

...I don't know, I was not raised to see color.

What is color, my friend?
Racism is a sin.

Why a sin, you ask,
...loving others no matter their color is a must not a task.

Asians, who are they?...and Africans alike,
Judging race... ain’t right!

Okay, here is the deal...!!
Do your eyes see the color of skin or the brightness of someone’s heart,
...oh my!, where do I start...

There tones of brown, such as beige and tan,
We don’t see these colors in any man.

Then there is white,
....so vibrant and bright...

Blue, a color you should be when you strike at another race,
...why did all’my Ancestors have to struggle in this place...

Light? A source used to see, it’s becomes dark when natural light fade,
Add the word “light” to any color, it becomes a lighter shade.

Uhm!! Light skinned individuals, who are they?
“Niggers”, “Malauto”?...if I may.

What about the word “dark”, used a lot in reference to African American tones,
I hate racism from the depths of my bones!

Red the color of cheeks in white or light skinned folk,
What about INTERRACIAL couples that are evenly yolked?

Human blood is red when it’s exposed to air, no matter your race,
Everyone has two eyes, one nose and a mouth on their face...

We walked the same, talk with our mouths regardless of our dialect... this ain’t new!
Why we see human color differently, I am confused.

Green the color of money, earned and “the root of all evil” 1 Timothy 6:10,
...why did racism begin?

Yellow, the color we are taught is the color of the sun,
Though the rainbow and all of it’s colors exist... the equal status of races?, there is none.

Dr. Martin Luther King, done what he was Blessed to do,
...and the good news!, God still ain’t through!

'Cause you see, racism will not be known in Heaven,
Read first Corinthians eleven.

Be my guess, read what this chapter and verse says about racism, John 7:24,
....oh I am sure if you study the Word,  that there is plenty more!...

(2001)

Growing up, I experienced first hand. It would be unjust of me to ask why my Mother insisted on having Caucasian friends, now wouldn't it?
