In this time of need, feeling incomplete
and relying on unfolded dreams
questioning every last belief
buried in the deepest of seam
is a book I have yet twice to read.
Keeping my eyes peeled
for a most subtle glimpse
and holding out
for the smallest of hints
that this way in the end
I might bypass the worst
of what’s to come
deserving, so it says
of us all
as sinful Men.
So what’s to come if I cheat?
lifting out the little wrinkles,
unbending pages sternly creased,
determined to find out,
what this author hides beneath?
What if the upturned clues,
lead me straight,
and directly back,
to an upright,
You?
