Hummingbird

The loss of a Hummingbird

Hummingbird

I sit by the bed, her hand in mine.
As the world slowly goes by.
Every second ticks in my head.
Until her hand slips, down, down on the bed.

My head bends in time,
No sound can be heard,
Apart from this one, always
Perfect little Hummingbird.

Her soul is now flying,
My heart fills with pain.
The rest of the world will not see her again.

That clock in her room,
Still ticks away.
As I continue to think of her.
Each and every day.

I sat by her bed, her hand in mine,
so she knew she’d be ok.
I was there for each second when she passed,
That time her soul slipped away.

The hummingbird is known as a 'magic bird' in some cultures as it can do many things the average bird can't - For example... Fly backwards as well as forwards.
The loss of a hummingbird is a big deal - This is taken from that idea!

A Hummingbird, a Perfect soul - Lost.
