My veins

Joy is light footing on a steady ground.
It comes upon like a sparrow on the wings of an eagle,
To free me from these cursed walls,
The ones that show my beating heart,
And pick out the veins that have trodden me down,
When I have suffered enough,
I still beat with the thumping of all mankind,
To proclaim my validity,
Through my misty eyes,
And you must’ve seen some of which I speak,
Because I was plain with you,
And yet i cannot bleed enough,
To let you know,
It was behind candlelight that my true face was made visible,
And every fiber of my being is longing,
Not for one thing, or all things, but anything,
That could give some essence,
Some truth of these feelings I bear,
And It was in the autumn that I felt my birth,
My genesis,
Sword, skin, tear, cheek, blood,
It was in the veins of my heart,
That I found my calling,
To be, that is all, just to be,
One that has kissed the stars,
And made love with loneliness.
